Rent receipt: what information it needs
A clear receipt protects both sides. Here is the minimum information it should carry.
Basic information
The payer's and payee's names, the unit's address, the amount in figures and in words, the period and the date.
Payment method
Cash, transfer or deposit, with a reference number if there is one.
Outstanding balance
If the payment was partial, write down how much is left. It avoids confusion the following month.
